Adult-onset Still's disease x ray

Overview
On x-ray of the affected joints, soft tissue swelling and joint effusions may be seen during early course of the disease. Intercarpal and carpometacarpal joint space narrowing (JSN) and ankylosis may be observed.
X-Ray
The following x-ray findings may be observed in patients suffering from adult-onset Still’s disease (AOSD):[1][2][3]
Early disease
- Affected joints may exhibit the following changes:
- Soft tissue swelling
- Joint effusion
- Mild periarticular demineralization
Late disease
- Affected joints may exhibit the following:
- Intercarpal and carpometacarpal joint space narrowing (JSN)
- Ankylosis (late finding)
- Articular erosions
