Akinetic-rigid syndromes

Overview

A syndrome characterized by cluster of akinesia, slowness in initiation of movement; rigidity, abnormal stiffness. It can be associated with slow movement, early fatiguing and postural instability.

Symmetrical neurodegenarative disorder
- Multiple systemic atrophy
- Progressive supra nuclear palsy

Asymmetrical neurodegenarative disorder
- Parkinson’s disease
- Corticobasal ganglionic degenaration
