Overview
Patients with analgesic nephropathy that present with acute renal failure or progression to end stage renal disease (ESRD) may require renal replacement therapy with dialysis.

Patients with analgesic nephropathy that present with acute renal failure or progression to end stage renal disease (ESRD) may require renal replacement therapy with dialysis.[1][2]
Other
Due to risk of infection, urinary catheterization is usually avoided in patients with analgesic nephropathy.[3]
