Anaplastic thyroid cancer laboratory findings

Overview

Laboratory findings consistent with the diagnosis of anaplastic thyroid cancer include elevated T3, elevated T4, and decreased thyroid stimulating hormone.

Laboratory Findings

The following tests may be done:

  • Thyroid function test[1]
  • Tumor marker tests- Tumor markers are substances, usually proteins in the blood that may indicate the presence of thyroid cancer. Tumor marker tests are used to check a person’s response to cancer treatment, but they can also be used to diagnose thyroid cancer.
