Antithrombotic
Overview
A antithrombotic is a drug which reduces thrombus formation.[1][2]
Different antithrombotics affect different processes:
- Antiplatelet drugs limit the migration or aggregation of platelets.
- Anticoagulants limit the ability of the platelets to clot.
- Thrombolytic drugs act to dissolve clots after they have formed.
