A dissection is a tear in the wall of a blood vessel.

Examples include:

• Coronary artery dissection
• Aortic dissection (aorta)
• Cervical artery dissection is dissection of any of the arteries in the neck-
  • Carotid artery dissection (carotid artery)
  • Vertebral artery dissection (vertebral artery)
• Renal artery dissection
