Overview

Blind loop syndrome is a medical condition that occurs when the intestine is obstructed, slowing or stopping the progress of digested food, and thus facilitating the growth of bacteria to the point that problems in nutrient absorption occur.

Complications from blind loop syndrome can be prevented by early recognition and prompt treatment.

Secondary Prevention

Complications from blind loop syndrome can be avoided by early recognition and prompt treatment. The treating physician should have high index of suspicion and diagnose and treat the condition promptly.
