Blue nevus

Overview

Blue Naevus or Nevus, is a special type of melanotic nevus. It is blue in color as its melanocytes are deeply situated in the skin. The nevus cells are spindle shaped and scattered in deep layers of the dermis. The covering epidermis is normal.

It is usually described as non-cancerous,^[1] but can be malignant.^[2]^[3]
