Caplans syndrome history and symptoms

Caplan Syndrome is mostly common in coal miners with Rheumatoid Arthritis. Presenting symptoms could be shortness of breath, cough, wheezing.

Patients with Caplan Syndrome may have a positive history of:

. Rheumatoid arthritis ^[1]

. Inorganic dust exposure in mine and related sources

. Pneumoconiosis

Symptoms include: ^{[1] [2]}

• Cough
• Shortness of breath
• Wheezing.

In addition, there are the features of RA including:

• Joint pain
• Rheumatoid nodules
• Morning stiffness.
