The medical therapy is usually an option for unruptured cerebral aneurysm.

Strategies mainly focus on:

1.      Smoking cessation

2.      Blood pressure control


For smoking cessation individualized smoking cessation programs are present which help in this matter

In case, if a patient is suffering from high blood pressure, doctor prescribe anti-hypertensive to control blood pressure & also recommended dietary & life style modifications.


Now-a-days aspirin is consider an evidence based medication that can be used in the management of cerebral aneurysm.

Aspirin is a potent inhibitor of cyclooxygenase-2 (COX) which plays a critical role in the expression of immune modulators known to contribute to cerebral aneurysm formation and rupture.

Currently, there are no pharmacological therapies for patients with cerebral aneurysms.[1]


Note:

It is recommended, periodic radiographic imaging (either MRA, CT scan or conventional angiography) to monitor the size and/or growth of the aneurysm
