Overview
Symptoms of cervical cancer depend upon the extent of cancer and organs involved by distant metastases,in the early stage of disease, most women are asymptomatic. Most common symptoms include abnormal vaginal bleeding, vaginal discharge and pelvic pain.
History and Symptoms
Most women with cervical cancer have no symptoms when the disease is in its early stage, those patients with advanced stage of cervical neoplasia can have varieties of symptoms based on tumor metastasis to internal organs,most common symptoms and signs of cervical cancer include:
- Abnormal vaginal bleeding
- Postmenopausal
- Intermenstrual
- Postcoital
- Bleeding after pelvic exam
- Abnormal vaginal discharge
- Pelvic pain
- Urinary hesitancy
- Dyspareunia
- Itching or burning of the vulva
- Fever
- Fatigue
- Abdominal pain
- Weight loss
- Anxiety and depression
