Chronic fatigue syndrome risk factors

Overview

The exact cause of chronic fatigue syndrome is unknown. However, there an increased risk of developing CFS is observed in patients infected with epstein barr virus or human herpes virus-6 (HHV-6). Additionally, a weak immune system response may also increase the risk of developing CFS.
