Cryptogenic organizing pneumonia MRI

Overview

MRI used to diagnose cryptogenic organizing pneumonia. Various findings seen on MRI are subpleural and peribronchovascular consolidation, ground-glass attenuation and nodules, irregular linear opacities, bronchial wall thickening and dilatation and reverse halo sign (atoll sign).

Findings

MRI of Chest may be helpful in the diagnosis of cryptogenic organizing pneumonia. Findings on MRI suggestive of cryptogenic organizing pneumonia include:^[1]

Subpleural and/or peribronchovascular consolidation
Ground-glass attenuation and nodules
Irregular linear opacities
Bronchial wall thickening and dilatation
The reverse halo sign (atoll sign)
