Cytosine arabinose syndrome

Cytarabine Syndrome is a constellation of side effects associated with cytosine arabinoside treatment.

6 to 12 hours after treatment, the following may be observed:

• Fever
• Myalgias or pain in the muscles

• Chest pain
• Skin rashes
• Malaise
• Conjunctivitis or swelling of the lining around the eyelids

A corticosteroid may be prescribed.
