MRI in cerebral edema due to diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) may show hyperattenuating signal on T2 FLAIR MRI.
Key MRI Findings for Diabetic Ketoacidosis
MRI may show the following findings in case of development of vasogenic cerebral edema in diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA):[1]
- Hyperattenuating signal on T2 FLAIR MRI
- No restricted diffusion in case of vasogenic edema
