Overview
Endoscopy may be helpful in the diagnosis of DES to exclude other esophageal lesion causing chest pain.
Other Imaging Findings
- Upper GI endoscopy may be helpful in the diagnosis of diffuse esophageal spasm by excluding other causes of dysphagia and chest pain. Normal endoscopic findings exclude inflammatory, tumor and structural lesion like scar/webs or stricture mimicking esophageal chest pain.
