Disintegrin

Editor-In-Chief: C. Michael Gibson, M.S., M.D. [1]

Overview

Disintegrin’s are typically proteins of around 70 amino acid.

They are most common in some snake venoms, and are used to block the function of some integrin proteins. They work by countering the blood clotting steps, inhibiting the clumping of platelets.
