Overview

Double-contrast barium enema may be helpful in the diagnosis of familial adenomatous polyposis. Familial adenomatous polyposis might be presented as multiple outgrowths with lobulation or indentation and filling defects on x-rays.

Double-contrast Barium enema may be helpful in the diagnosis of familial adenomatous polyposis. Findings on an x-ray suggestive of familial adenomatous polyposis include:^[1]^[2]

Multiple pedunculated outgrowth
Basal indentation
Lobulation
Irregular surface contour
