Ultrasound
Imaging studies are often obtained during the evaluation process. Ultrasonography reveals a “bright” liver with increased echogenicity.

The accuracy of ultrasound for detecting mild steatosis has been reported as[1]:
- Sensitivity 83%
- Specificity 81%
