Effective measures for the primary prevention of G6PD deficiency include:[1]
- Avoiding triggers (some foods and drugs):
- Fava beans
- Sulfa drugs
- Primiquine
- Nitrodurantoin
- Rasburicase
- Administration of vaccines:
- Hepatitis A and B vaccines are recommended for G6PD defeceincy patients to prevent attacks due to infection.[2]
