Overview
There are no diagnostic laboratory findings associated with hamartoma. However in some cases laboratory tests such as complete blood count, serum electrolytes, urea levels, and alkaline phosphatase levels may be indicated if the tumor becomes symptomatic.
Laboratory tests
Laboratory findings consistent with the diagnosis of hamartoma include:[1]
- Complete blood count (CBC)
- Urea levels
- Liver function tests
- CD8
- Key feature that differentiates splenic hamartoma from other vascular lesions of the spleen.
