Laboratory Findings
- There are no laboratory findings associated with heartburn. Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is not diagnosed by any laboratory test.
- Laboratory tests can be performed to exclude other causes of heartburn or chest pain that may be felt like heartburn, such as acute coronary syndromes. These can be diagnosed by testing troponin I and CKMB.
