Lymphedema (also see Elephantiasis) may be inherited (primary) or caused by injury to the lymphatic vessels (secondary).

• Congential

• Cancer

• Debulking surgery (lymph node dissection)

• Radiation therapy

• Recurrent infections by parasites (Wuchereria bancrifti)

• Drug induced – Pramipexole
