Myocarditis chest x ray

Findings on chest x-ray suggestive of myocarditis include cardiomegaly, pericardial thickening in presence of pericarditis, pulmonary edema, and pleural effusion.

Chest radiograph findings in patients with myocarditis depend on the severity of the condition and may reveal:

• Cardiomegaly associated with cardiac failure
• Most often normal cardiac silhouette
• Pericardial thickening in presence of pericarditis
• Pulmonary edema
• Pleural effusion
