Papillitis
Overview
Papillitis is a disorder of the eye in which there is inflammation of the optic nerve, specifically the optic disk. The disorder is progressive and can result in blindness in one or both eyes.
Diagnosis
Symptoms
- Pain on movement of the eye
- Rapid vision loss in hours or days
Physical examination
- Swelling of optic disk(papilledema)
