History to be elicited from a patient presenting with complaints of otorrhea are:

• Ear discharge:
  • Onset
  • Duration
  • Intermittent or constant
  • Color of the discharge
  • Odor of the discharge
• Presence of associated symptoms:
  • Fever
  • Ear pain
  • Headache
