Paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria risk factors

There are no established risk factors for paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria. However, PNH is usually associated with aplastic anemia, myelodysplastic syndrome, and acute myelogenous leukemia.

• Common risk factors of paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria are not establised.
• However, paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria is usually associated with the following diseases:^[1]
  • Aplastic anemia
  • Myelodysplastic syndrome
  • Acute myelogenous leukemia
