Overview

In some patients with sickle cell anemia, MRI may be needed to assess for particular conditions, such as osteomyelitis.

MRI

There are no MRI findings associated with sickle cell disease. However, a MRI may be helpful in the diagnosis of complications of sickle cell disease, which include:^[1]
