• Abdominal pain
• Back pain
• Difficulty getting up and standing
• Increased curvature of the back
• Irritability
• Low-grade fever (less than 102 degrees Fahrenheit)
• Refusal to sit up, stand, or walk (younger child)
• Stiffness in back
