Taft equation

The Taft equation is similar to the Hammett equation in that it relates the varying activities of a group of analogous compounds given changes in substituents. The difference between the equations is that where the Hammett equation does not account for steric effects, the Taft equation accounts for this problem.^[1]

The equation is:
