The EKG in Hypercalcemia

Electrocardiographic findings of hypercalcemia include;

1. A shortening of the QTc interval
2. The decrease is at the expense of the ST segment which becomes shortened or absent.
3. This is true for a serum Ca of up to 16 meq/li, above this level there is QTc prolongation.
