Thymoma risk factors

There are no established risk factors for thymoma.

• There are no environmental risk factors for thymoma; however, several case reports have described an association with:^[1]
  • Human foamy virus
  • Epstein-Barr virus
  • Human T-cell lymphotropic virus
  • Infections
• Thymoma may be observed in patients with MEN 1 syndrome
