Tumor lysis syndrome electrocardiogram

Electrocardiogram (ECG) may be helpful in the diagnosis of arrhythmias associated with tumor lysis syndrome.

The following changes on EKG can be seen in patients with tumor lysis syndrome:^[1]

• Peaked narrow T waves may be seen in patients with tumor lysis syndrome due to hyperkalemia
• Prolongation of the PR interval
• Prolongation of the QRS interval
• Sine wave pattern
• Ventricular tachyarrhythmias
