AVNRT physical examination

Common physical examination findings of AVNRT include tachycardia, hypotension, and canon a waves in jugular vein.

• Patients with AVNRT usually appear normal.

• The heart rate is typically regular and between 140-280 bpm. In adults the range is 140-250 bpm, but in children the rate can exceed 250 bpm.

• Hypotension may be present in some cases.

• Skin examination of patients with AVNRT is usually normal.

• HEENT examination of patients with AVNRT is usually normal.

• Cannon a waves may be present in some cases

• Rales may be present in some patients with congestive heart failure

• If the AVNRT is not a complication of perivious MI, heart examination would be normal exept tachycardia that is present.

• Abdominal examination of patients with AVNRT is usually normal.

• Back examination of patients with AVNRT is usually normal.

• Genitourinary examination of patients with AVNRT is usually normal.

• Neuromuscular examination of patients with AVNRT is usually normal.

• Extremities examination of patients with AVNRT is usually normal.
