The Alpha subunit of glycoprotein hormones is a peptide formed by a gene found on chromosome 6. It serves as the alpha protein subunit for the following four hormones:
- Human chorionic gonadotropin
- Follicle-stimulating hormone
- Luteinizing hormone
- Thyroid stimulating hormone
