Laboratory findings consistent with the diagnosis of anaplastic thyroid cancer include elevated T3, elevated T4, and decreased thyroid stimulating hormone.

The following tests may be done:
- Thyroid function test[1]
- Elevated T3
- Elevated T4
- Lowered thyroid stimulating hormone
- Tumor marker tests- Tumor markers are substances, usually proteins in the blood that may indicate the presence of thyroid cancer. Tumor marker tests are used to check a person’s response to cancer treatment, but they can also be used to diagnose thyroid cancer.
