Currently there are no established methods to prevent androgen insensitivity syndrome (AIS). However, women with complete androgen insensitivity syndrome (CAIS) have decreased bone mineral density, regardless of timing of gonadectomy.

Women with complete androgen insensitivity syndrome (CAIS) have decreased bone mineral density, regardless of timing of gonadectomy. However, women with partial androgen insensitivity syndrome (PAIS) who choose not to undergo gonadectomy do not appear to be at high risk for decreased bone mineral density.
