Some of the medical treatments that have been effective in other functional disorders include treatments for:^[1]
- Dysmotility (such as cisapride or erythromycin)
- Hyperalgesia (such as antidepressants)
- Inflammation (such as mast cell stabilizers)
- Psychosocial therapy (such as cognitive-behavioral therapy)
