Biopsy

Biopsy of the lymph nodes is not routinely employed but when taken can aid in the diagnosis of cat scratch disease. Findings in the biopsy include:
- Nonspecific inflammatory infiltrates
- Granulomas
- Micro-abscesses

Biopsy of the liver and spleen can also be taken if they are involved in the disease process.
