Cerebral venous sinus thrombosis surgery

Surgery is required in the treatment of cerebral venous thrombosis with life-threatening intracranial hypertension.

For the treatment of increased intracranial hypertension and impending transtentorial cerebral herniation in cerebral venous thrombosis(CVT), surgical decomprerssion procedure is lifesaving.^[1] Surgical thrombectomy is required in the setting of severe neurological and visual deterioration despite maximal medical therapy.
