Cervical rib syndrome

Cervical Rib Syndrome is a disease state in which there is compression of the subclavian artery, subclavian vein, and brachial plexus at the site of the thoracic outlet caused by a cervical rib or fascial band connecting the tip of a cervical rib with the first thoracic rib.

• Pain in the neck
• Pain in the shoulder radiating into the upper extremity
• Paresis and or paralysis of muscles innervated by the brachial plexus innervated muscles;
• Sensory loss
• Paresthesias
• Limb ischemia
• Edema ^[1]
