Overview
Overview
A bone scan can be used to detect osteoporosis sooner than on an x ray. Bone densitometry is also used to detect changes in bone density as well as to monitor the results of treatment.
Other Imaging Findings
Other Imaging Findings
A bone scan of the affected limb may detect patchy osteoporosis even sooner than X ray. Bone densitometry can also be used to detect changes in bone mineral density. It can also be used to monitor the results of treatment, as bone densitometry parameters improve with treatment.
