Compliance

Compliance can mean:

• In mechanical science (cf. rheology), the inverse of stiffness
• Compliance (medicine), a patient’s (or doctor’s) adherence to a recommended course of treatment
• Compliance (physiology), a measure of the tendency of a hollow organ to resist recoil toward its original dimensions upon removal of a distending or compressing force.
