Overview

Ultrasound is used in pediatric patients and in cirrhosis with portal hypertension. It is fast and can be done without sedating.

It is of high diagnostic importance in pediatric encephalopathies
Evaluation of cirrhosis associated with portal hypertension which is one of the cause of encephalopathy
It is fast and does not need sedation
