Eosinophilic esophagitis physical examination

Physical examination of the patients with Eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) is normal.

• Patients with EoE usually appear normal.

• Temperature-Normal
• Heart rate- regular pulse
• Respiratory rate- Normal
• Blood pressure- Normal

• Skin- Normal

• Sclera- Normal
• Extra-ocular movements- normal
• Pupils reactive to light / reactive to accommodation
• Ophthalmoscopic exam is normal
• Hearing acuity normal
• Weber test-normal
• Rinne test-positive
• Ear canal- normal

• Normal- Jugualar venous pulse
• Carotid pulse– normal
• Lymphnodes-normal
• Thyroid-normal

• Symmetric chest expansion
• Lungs are resonant
• Normal vesicular breath sounds heard
• Wheezing may be present
• Egophony absent
• Bronchophony absent
• Normal tactile fremitus

• PMI within 2 cm of the sternum (PMI)
• S1
• S2

• Abdominal examination is normal
• No organomegaly
• No bruits heard

• Normal

• Nomal

• Patient is usually oriented to persons, place, and time
• Normal mental status
• Glasgow coma scale is 15/ 15
• Clonus may be present
• Normal deep tendon reflexes
• Normal cranial nerve examination
• Normal Gait
• Normal cerebellar examination

• Normal
