Eosinophilic pneumonia other imaging findings

• Thoracic US can be used to follow-up patients with acute eosinophilic pneumonia. The US shows that all patients exhibited multiple diffuse bilateral B-lines and lung sliding which was consistent with the alveolar-interstitial syndrome. B-line numbers fell during the course of treatment. The US is a useful modality for evaluating the treatment response in patients with acute eosinophilic pneumonia.

• There is no evident role for UlltraSound (US) in the diagnosis of acute eosinophilic pneumonia (AEP).
• An observational study on thoracic US findings and their clinical utility for follow-up in patients with acute eosinophilic pneumonia shows that all patients exhibited multiple diffuse bilateral B-lines and lung sliding which was consistent with alveolar-interstitial syndrome.^[1]
• B-line numbers fell during the course of treatment. US is a useful modality for evaluating the treatment response in patients with AEP.
