Overview
The incidence of ependymoma is approximately 0.05 to 0.08 per 100,000 individuals in the United States.[1] The posterior fossa tumours tend to present more commonly in the paediatric age group (mean age at diagnosis is 6 years of age). Male and female are affected equally by ependymomal tumors.

Age
- The posterior fossa tumors tend to present more commonly among the paediatric age group (mean age at diagnosis is 6 years of age).
- Subependymoma usually affects people older than 40 years of age.
Gender
- Males and females are affected equally by ependymomal tumors.
- Subependymoma more often affects men than women.
