Overview

Overview

CT scan in Ewing’s sarcoma may be helpful in biopsy and staging. CT scan adds little to plain radiography and MRI in direct assessment of the tumor.

CT

CT

CT scan is used to:[1]

  • Observe the extent of the bone tumor
  • Observe if the tumor has spread into nearby tissues
  • Guide a biopsy needle to the tumor (CT-guided biopsy)
  • Observe if the bone cancer has spread to the lung (metastasis)
  • Follow response to radiation and/or chemotherapy
