Haplogroup M (Y-DNA)
In human genetics, Haplogroup M (M4) is a Y-chromosome DNA haplogroup.
This haplogroup is associated with Near Oceania and Maritime Southeast Asia, particularly Melanesia, Micronesia, and eastern Indonesia.
It is a descendant haplogroup of haplogroup K, and is believed to have first appeared approximately 10,000 years ago.
