Overview

Given the risk of complications (e.g., cirrhosis or hepatocellular carcinoma) in infants and young children who are infected with the HBV, as well as the benefits of vaccination and postexposure prophylaxis, the prevention and treatment of hepatitis B are considered cost-effective.^[1]
